We are elated to announce that Little Miss Mya is one of Tralala’s new faces! Mya had an opportunity to model for Tralala’s 2009 Fall Collection which is out now in children’s boutique’s across the nation. Mya did so well, she was asked to be a part of Tralala’s 2010 Collection which she recently finished shooting in July. I can’t wait for the 2010 Collection to launch at the end of this year, because the pieces are amazing! So amazing…I couldn’t resist the clothes myself, so of course I had to put in my request for a few of the pieces that won’t be released until December. They’re absolutely adorable…I promise you!
Tralala can be found at the following online boutiques as well as retailers across the nation:
It’s so surreal to see Mya’s pictures on posters and catalogs, but at the same time it really puts things into perspective. We’re so proud of the young little lady that she has become and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for her. Here are just a few of my favorite images of Mya from the shoot…

Mya spent the evening at Grandma and Papa’s house today and this is what she brought back for me. I had to snap a picture of it and while I was posing her she said she felt like she was “getting marry” followed by a snippet of “dun dunt da dunn….da dunt da dunn…“. I don’t know where she gets it from, but it’s freakin’ hilarious!

Who knew Little Miss Mya had the chops for acting? She sure did blow us away when we were on set to do a commercial shoot for Sugar Rush Media. Mya along with the rest of the kids were awesome on set. They all had a specific role to play and endured more than 15 takes all under the hot sun and you have to remember that these kids were all 3-6 year olds! They did a stupendous job capturing a story with a thousand words all in one picture and the final outcome? Awesome!

We don’t get to see Jordyn often, but when we do it amazes us to see how much she’s grown over just a few months or even a few weeks. Changes are most drastic from the newborn stage to the toddler stage and it flashes right by you…within a blink of an eye – it seems. Mya and Jordyn are second cousins, a couple of years apart and completely opposite of each other. Jordyn is always on the go and Mya…well…Mya kinda just goes with the flow. Jordyn takes daytime naps and Mya avoids daytime naps. Jordyn likes to dance. Mya likes to sing. It’s fun to see how different these girls are from their laughs down to their personalities, but what I’m really looking forward to is seeing them grow up together. Yes, differences and all!
Here are a few pictures of Mya and Jordyn from the CourtneyCourtney shoot. Now aren’t they adorable?

I received an e-mail from Just Spotted, an Orange County blog about all things Orange County and to my surprise, this blog was nominated for their 1st Annual Just Spotted Orange County Blog Awards. Who knew there was such thing? Just Spotted is a fantastic blog put together by real OC moms who considers their blog “a guide to living, visiting & dreaming about Orange County”. Guess where we’re headed tonight?! We’re off to the Angels vs Rangers baseball game! This will be the girls’ first baseball game, so it should be interesting. Yay!! Lots of hot dogs, nachos and BEER!!!

Here are some pictures of Mya and Olivia at the baseball game. They danced, they cheered and they even did the wave!!! Woo hooo!!! The family that sat behind us was so nice, they gave the girls a couple of beads (necklaces)! The girls were ecstatic! So, even though the Angels lost to the Rangers 11-6, it was still good times! Here are the goods…

If you flash some green beans or peas in front of Mya, she’ll make an “eew” face. Everytime there is something new on her plate and she refuse to eat it, I always get her to try it first before she makes a judgement about it. “You gotta be fair to the green beans and the peas and give them a chance, ” I always say. My fear is that we have a picky eater in our hands, so we like to get her to try different things to see what she likes or dislikes. This little girl loves cheese, shrimp, crawfish, chicken, rice and most of all the macaroni salad from Hawaiian Loft….but then again who doesn’t like the macaroni salad from that place? Mmmm!!! We try not to give her too much sugar, but sometimes wheneverytime she goes over to Grandma and Papa’s house she comes home with a tootsie pop in her mouth. Papa brings home tootsie pops from work for Mya and if you ask him why she has one today, he’ll tell you…”because she was good today”. Well, she must be good everyday, because everytime I pick her up, she has one. I swear, this little girl has her Papa wrapped around her little finger! I hope everyone is having a great week! I’ll leave you with a picture of Mya from a commercial food test she did just recently…

I forget sometimes that I’ve had braces…twice so far in my life. Yes, that’s alot per lifetime! That’s what happens when you lose your retainer, not once but twice and please believe me when I say it doesn’t help the coolness factor being a freshman in high school with braces…metal braces at that! I remember the feeling I got when I finally got those darn things off. I went to school and made it a point not to smile or even bear a grin large enough for anyone to see, because I didn’t want the attention. Attention in high school = embarrassment. I had the most crookedest teeth ever and I was convinced it was all in my genes because all of the kids in our family had horrible teeth. My best friend in junior high had the most beautiful and brightest smile and it was because she had straight teeth. She was Filipino and used to tell me the reason why she had straight teeth was because in her culture, they believed that rubbing garlic on the babies gums would ensure that their teeth would grow in straight and of course, ’til this day, I believe it.
I remember one day after school, my friends and I decided that we were going shopping but of course we were hungry. That’s just what teenagers do. Hang out. Shop. Eat. Hang out. Shop. Eat. We’re always hungry. After a round of shopping, we decided to go to Burger King. We ordered. We sat. We ate our Whoppers with cheese and no onions. Chatted. Laughed. Chatted. Burped…out loud. Cleared our trays and dumped them in the trash can and left the joint. We then decided to walked across the street when I thought to myself, “My retainers! Shoot…I think I left my retainers in the trash can.” I was frantic at that point and yelled, “I left my retainers on the tray and now it’s in the trash can. We gotta go back! My mom is gonna kill me!” So we went back, all three of my girlfriends and I to try to save “Navy’s retainers”. I scurried to the register and said, “I think I left my retainers on the tray and now I think it’s in your trash can. Can I have that bag of trash?” You should’ve seen the look on the manager’s face! Got the bag of trash. Dug and dug through the soiled napkins and through the remnants of burgers and fries, but still…nothing! “Dude! It’s not in here!” Back to the counter I went, “It’s not in there. Did you guys just take out your trash?” “Yeah, we may have. It would be in the dumpster in the back.” I looked at my friends. They looked at me and with desperation in my eyes, I stormed to the backside of Burger King and did what I never thought I would do. It was a sight to see. Four girls in a dumpster, like scavengers looking for a single treasure. It was hilarious! After the hunt and a ton of laughs, we found my retainers. I will never ever forget that. It was one of the most memorable high school stories ever!
