We’ve been hinting Daddy for a dog…a miniature teacup…maybe one like Oreo. A couple of our good friends, Nicole and Mark recently became new parents to this adorable Shih Tzu and I’m afraid we have fallen in love with him – truely, madly, deeply. Well, Mya’s birthday is coming up, so maybe we can talk daddy into getting one of these….

It seems as if summer flew by within a blink of an eye and that reminds me of a theory I have. The theory is…the more kids you have, the faster time will fly. It will double, triple and multiply! It’s true…it’s true! So what did Miss Mya get into this summer? Aside from family functions and outings, Mya enjoyed all of the summer fun that took place at school! They took field trips to the La Habra Children’s Museum, El Dorado Park and even the Atlantis Play Center. Yep…on a yellow school bus and all….and OH…she wanted to mention that every time they were in route they had to sing “The wheels on the bus go round and round…round and round…round and round…“ They also had water fun days. That’s when the kids get into their bathing suits and jump into the pool and water slides. I swear Mya and water is like oil and water. They don’t mix, but as the summer progressed she got used to the “sprinkles” in her face and getting her hair wet. After the first few days of water fun, she was comfortable enough to look forward to the next and it really became one of her favorite things to do at school. Okay…okay…I’ll admit it. She’s like her mama when it comes to water. I don’t swim and once water gets past my chin and up in my face…I’m done! I’m so bad that Al suggested Mya and I take a swimming class together to learn how to swim, but I refuse. Maybe I’ll think about it next summer….maybe. Anyhow, we’re back into the groove of things now with our schedule and we have lots of exciting things to look forward to this fall with holidays and special events, so keep posted!

Blartsy: Blurry + Artsy

This morning traffic was a little more congested, crossguards tended to school corners and yellow school buses were back up and running. I woke up earlier than usual today to make sure things were in order from packing a well balanced lunch to ironing stubborn wrinkles out of school clothes. School is officially back in effect and today was the first day of school for the ’09-’10 school year. More to come on Mya’s first day back at school, but for now I’ll leave you with this…
