It’s a looooong day when you’re hangin’ out with a half dozen of kids!  We headed up to The Great Park in Orange County to soak up some fun in the sun and snow!  There’s an ice skating rink available along with snow play and sledding for everyone.  Although it wasn’t as grand as we anticipated it to be, we still enjoyed ourselves.  I think the we all agreed that the shuttle ride back to our cars was pretty much the most fun we had there at the park.  :(  There was just sooo many people there and not enough attractions to accommodate the amount of people that were there.  Before we headed back home, we wanted to take advantage of some photo ops at Old Town Irvine while we were in the area, so we did just that.  Although it was tiring to be around so many kids, it was so much fun!

February 2, 2010 - 10:20 am Paula - The kids were sooo cute during the shoot. You took some great shots.

February 7, 2010 - 12:12 pm Brandiann - I'm so glad you like the sweater looks great on you and you looked like you had a lot of fun jumping with your friends in the parking lot! Love ya

February 26, 2010 - 6:53 pm Nadia & Jayden - Wow, you're right Auntie Navy I do look like I'm faking and Jayden said she looks ugly. LOL (:

February 26, 2010 - 7:00 pm Navy Sou - Oh shush...Nadia! You guys are adorable!!!

Friday calls for happy hour…the kind that involves just the ladies…over margaritas brimming with salt and freshly made salsa with warm tortilla chips fresh from the fryer.  We headed up to Pink Taco on Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles battling traffic and our starving stomachs.  I think it took us a good hour to get from point A to point B to point C, but we made it and enjoyed ourselves.  Who doesn’t love good company and I must say…it was much needed after a weeks worth of work.  If you ask me…I think it should be a weekly ritual.  A fat thank you to Gezal for gettin’ us together for a fabulous happy hour.  May there be many many many more to come!

February 7, 2010 - 12:13 pm Brandiann - Gezal told me about that place...once I have money I so want to go. It looks like so much fun!

This week, a bunch of us got together and scoured our closets for shoes to donate to Soles for Souls which is a shoe drive, a relief effort organized by Sports Chalet to help out with the disaster and devastation that Haiti has undergone.  Help is crucial and our efforts, big or small will make a difference in the lives of the Haitian people who are struggling to overcome the aftermath of a natural disaster.  There are many ways to help and many organizations to donate to locally in every community, so let’s do our part and give back…

A huge thanks to Jake and Lisa for organizing the donation and delivering the goods to our local Sports Chalet.  It was awesome to see everyone do their part and participate!

This is what we saw in the sky tonight at 8:24pm…

Kids say the darndest things.  They really do!  Here are a few memorable Mya blurbs from this past week:

I was last to tuck Mya into bed as she whispered into my ear,  “Mommy!  Please.  Um.  Please tell daddy he’s a polka dot face…okayTell him he’s a polka dot face.”

Mya has been waking up from nightmares more often now.  The other night she woke up crying and she told her dad she had a bad dream.  When asked what her bad dream was about  she quivered and said, “A avocado hit me in the face.”  At least it’s not monsters.

Mya is even learning a second language…French that is.  Apparently, “excusez moi” is French for “excuse me”.  Now she says it when we go down grocery store aisles, in line at the store and even when she’s trying to get our attention.  We can thank daddy for that one.

We were eating out when Mya grabbed a spoon in one hand and a fork in the other and as she starts to eat with both utensils, she looked up at me and said, “Look.  I’m eating in Chinese.”

February 1, 2010 - 5:15 pm Erin - Just found your blog and love your pictures. I especially love the third simple but yet it has so much expression! Love it!

Dim Sum: an integral part of Chinese cusine, closely associated with the tradition of yum cha, or taking tea. Dim sum means “small heart”, suggestive of a small snack that touches the heart.

Nothing is better than Dim Sum on Sunday afternoons…

…and Mya agrees.

January 26, 2010 - 2:57 am kayleen t. - Such cute pictures! And I'm so craving dim sum right now! Are you going to wppi?

January 26, 2010 - 9:27 pm Navy Sou - Thank you, Kayleen! Isn't Dim Sum the best comfort food? I would love to go to WPPI, but I won't be making it this year. Hopefully, I will see you there next year! ;)

We had a full day today, and what I mean by full day is 3 birthday shindigs, a mini photo session, lunch at our favorite restaurant and a casting call.  Amidst all of the happenings, we even managed to make our way to one of our favorite spots for a few quick pictures of us.  I snapped some of Mya and Mya snapped some of me ’cause that’s how we roll…

We want to give a big shout out to all of our birthday babies today!  Happy Birthday Dustin, Kevin, Lauren and my little sis’ “A”!  We love you all!

January 26, 2010 - 8:32 pm Brandiann - We love you too Mya and thank you for coming to visit us! Avery had a great time with you and is still talking about the fun you guys had in the restroom!!!

A whole weeks’ worth of rain and we’re at the end of it all.   That means that there’s a rainbow somewhere!  We were in for a sweet surprise this morning when we sighted one on our way to drop Mya off at school!  It was clear as day and what a wonderful way to end the week!  Happy Friday!

January 23, 2010 - 5:11 pm Brandiann - That is so freakin cute!

Mya loooooves to color and if you want to make her happy, all you have to do is sit side by side with her and simply color your heart out…

January 22, 2010 - 9:02 pm Brandiann - She colors so good. I love her style and the colors she uses. Great job Mya!!!
