Monthly Archives: February 2010

Last day of the month…whew!!!  It is tough keeping up with life as it happens!  It’s Sunday and we have a rendezvous with my girlfriends and the kiddos at….drumrolls pleaaaase…..Dim Sum!  Duhhh!!! Here’s Part I of II from our morning…

Yes…this is the face…the face of a DIM SUM EATIN’ FOOL…whhhaat????

Later on that night, we went over to Shelia’s for Austin’s 17th Birthday!  I cannot believe he is SEVENTEEN!  If anything or anyone reminds us of how old we are…it’s definitely birthdays and kids…and even worse…a birthday for a kid who isn’t a kid anymore!

March 2, 2010 - 10:02 pm Titi Brandi - We had a great time and thanks for the invite!

We love Miss Avery!  Avery is our Goddaughter who is nine months younger than Mya is….but you can’t even tell how far apart they are which is awesome!  Mya loves her to pieces!   I love the sass that Avery brings to the table.  Today she said she loves Justin Bieber.  I then asked her if she was going to marry him one day and she said, “Yes!”  Avery is also the human tape recorder!  She’s been that way ever since we can remember!  Her speech has developed so well and I am amazed at how much she’s picked up in the last year and a half!  Here’s Avery in all of her sassyness!

*I love Avery’s skin tone because she has the best kind of skin tone for camera.  I never have to edit too much to get results like these…beautiful!

February 28, 2010 - 9:42 pm Titi Brandi - Love love love my sassy little girl...she's mommy all over again and it's great to see her grow right in front of our eyes. She loves her Godparents and she can never get enough of Mya. Thanks for the pictures and for being so great in her life!!!

March 1, 2010 - 1:00 pm Gezal - Avery really looks like Brandi in these pictures!! Had a good time with Avery over the weekend...Go Avery!!

Who is your bestfriend…other than Mya and Al…typical response from you!

I have many best friends!

One being Terra…my BFF from high school!  We were the same kind…loved the same type of clothes…had the same type of humor…and after awhile…we started to acquire the same kind o’ look.  You know what they say about best friends  –  they start to look alike after awhile!  Here is a recent picture of Mini Terra and Mini Navy…

February 28, 2010 - 9:43 pm Titi Brandi - This is so cute and too bad you don't have pictures like that of you and your BFF to compare. I love this and it's so great to have many friends...your an amazing little girl Mya and I can see how everyone would love to be your BFF!!!

March 1, 2010 - 11:23 pm Terra - AWWWW! I LOVE YOU, girl! Hey, we need to do a shoot together! Celebrate friendship!

March 4, 2010 - 5:37 pm Navy Sou - We should! Did you know Friendship Day existed? It's in August!

I recently found a wonderful website called where anyone can ask us any question…anonymously!  I think it’s a clever idea and I love it!  Some of these questions are a bit challenging and I find myself stumped at times, but that’s the fun part!

Do you plan on having more children? Do you plan on getting married? Can you share baby pictures of Mya? I bet she was GORGEOUS!

Yes, one day we would like to have more children. One more according to Al and a dozen more according to me…lol! Of course, that’s the dreamer in me! We’re in the midst of planning our wedding finally after over a decade. If not this summer, definitely next summer! I have tons of Mya’s baby pictures from my amateur photographer days. Mya…gorgeous? Through these mommy goggles of mine? Of course! These goggles are pretty thick! Lol!

Here’s one of Mya and the pilot right in front of the cockpit of the airplane.  We were coming back from Kansas and she was 7 months old…

Every week, we took Mya to Gymboree where they had age appropriate and kid friendly activities.  She loved everything about that place…

February 27, 2010 - 12:40 am Titi Brandi - I love every picture and I don't think it's your goggles but if that's the case mine are pretty damn thick too...I think Mya is so beautiful...I love how she lights up a room with her pretty smile and her little laugh! Titi loves you Mya!

February 28, 2010 - 2:32 am Patty aka "Yay-Yay" - Well, I hope you two will do something about getting married and another grandchild soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon!

For Throwback Tuesday today, I’m throwin’ it back…waaaaay back…all the way back to…2005!  The best thing we did for us while I was pregnant with Mya was  a 3D/4D ultrasound.  I remember doing this right before we had our baby shower and we were able to do it just in time to have the pictures at our shower to show family and friends.  Along with pictures, we were also given a DVD of the entire session which was awesome.  Grandma Patty and Auntie Shelia came along for the ultrasound and sat in a dim room with us while the ultrasound tech projected the entire session onto the wall for us to watch.  I remember I couldn’t help but to cry when I saw Mya’s little face on the screen.  It was amazing!

February 25, 2010 - 7:32 pm Titi Brandi - I remember looking at these pictures and falling in love with little Mya before she was even that she's here I love her even more!

February 25, 2010 - 9:32 pm Navy Sou - That was really sweet of you to say, Brandi! You have really grown on Mya as well!

February 26, 2010 - 10:09 am Michelle - Vanessa said: "Who's that?" Mommy: "Baby Mya in Auntie Navy's belly!" Vanessa said: "How did Mya get back in there?!?!?!" Vanessa is comedy I laughed so hard. Mya looks so cute! I love the last one, it looks like she is smiling!

February 26, 2010 - 10:12 am Navy Sou - Vanessa always has the funniest blurbs!!! LOVE HER!

March 14, 2010 - 1:45 am Auntie Shelia - OMG...I remember those pics of Mya's ultrasound. It was like it was yesterday. I remember being so excited waiting for Mya to get here. I was more excited about Mya coming than I was when I delivered my own kids. It was one of the most exciting times waiting for my first niece to come into the world. Love u My My.

Monkey Jammies…Part II!  Here’s Mya in another set of monkey jammers along with a coordinating mask…which I think is one of the freakiest looking masks ever.  I think we picked this mask up when we went to the Santa Ana Zoo.  Anyhow, she loves the mask.  Creepy.

February 25, 2010 - 5:25 pm Gezal - Hey, I bought her that creepy mask! LOL..I love these pictures, she looks so adorable!

February 25, 2010 - 5:29 pm Navy Sou - LOL...I love you Gezal, but that mask is still creepy! Ha ha!

February 25, 2010 - 7:34 pm Titi Brandi - Everytime I look at your blog Avery is usually near me to give me her thoughts on the pictures. This time she said "Mom...Mya doesn't cry...why is she crying?" It was so cute I had to share!

Here I go chasing clouds again.  I don’t know what it is about the sky and the clouds…but whatever it is…I find it fascinating.  Maybe it’s because my head is there half of the time….just maybe.

February 25, 2010 - 9:36 pm Auntie Jessica - Me too! I find myself staring at how beautiful the sky and clouds are! You captured them perfect!!

February 25, 2010 - 9:58 pm Navy Sou - Jessica, we're both dreamers! That's what we have in common! ;)

February 28, 2010 - 9:51 pm Titi Brandi - This picture made me look at the sky differently today. I've always liked to look at clouds with Avery and tell each other what shapes we see but today I looked and just enjoyed the sky!

March 3, 2010 - 12:09 am Navy Sou - Brandi...I love that! Mya always has different findings when the clouds roll in. The other day, she found an! Sometimes we forget the little things that kids seem to enjoy and appreciate. It's another reminder of what life is all about!

I love Southern California!  Why…you ask? Because we’re only minutes away from the beach and less than a couple of hours away from the mountains…where there’s snow!  Kevin and Brandi invited us up for a snow day in Big Bear, so we took ’em up on that offer.  Mya and I took a road trip with Derrick, Gezal and DL on a one day turnaround trip and let me tell you… it well worth it!  Mya enjoyed the day even though it was short lived.  The oooh’s and awww’s began halfway up the mountain when we started seeing powder.  It was just beautiful and I couldn’t believe we didn’t have to travel far to be in a completely different climate and surrounding.  The trip was a success and I say success because we made it back in one piece.  I really thought I was going to die coming down that mountain that night.  Note to self:  Never…ever ever drive to or from Big Bear at night!!!  The fog was soooo thick, we couldn’t see even a foot past our vehicle.  Thank you, Derrick and Gezal for getting us back safely!  We definitely learned our lesson! Whew! Despite the drive back, the trip was wonderful!  So wonderful…that we’re thinking about heading back again soon! 😉  Now, who wants to go???

What???  You mean to tell me that there ain’t gonna be fashion show???  Ooops…

February 25, 2010 - 11:52 am Gezal - Awe, I love these pix!!

February 25, 2010 - 7:38 pm Titi Brandi - Loved that you guys came to visit and Kevin and I have been talking about going again for just one night so let me know. I had a great time and I felt so bad when Gezal told me about the drive back. I really wanted you guys to stay but I get why you didn't. We had a blast seeing you guys and it was nice to have friends and family for a yet again a great time in Big Bear...I'm thinking of making it a tradition!!!

February 23, 2010 - 5:13 am MarieSam - Lil mama, you may not realize this now, but people pay big $$$ for beautiful lashes like yours :) So flutter those bad boys and take care of them ~ Little Miss Mya, you are gorgeous!!!
